I was born in Ethiopia to Ugandan parents and grew up in several African countries. Joining Doctors for Africa creates and opportunity for me to give back to the continent that raised me. I obtained my medical degree from the University of Liverpool and went on to specialise in paediatrics at Alder Hey Children's Hospital. My special interest in Tropical Medicine has led me to my current post doing a research MSc in Tropical Paediatrics at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
With millions of African children dying form preventable causes each year, I applaud the work Doctors for Africa is trying to do. I hope to contribute by identifying sustainable approaches to improving child survival from tropical diseases.
